Fairtrade Coffee Break

Help change the lives of farmers, workers and their families in developing countries by hosting a Fairtrade Coffee Break this Fair Trade Fortnight (2-17 May 2009). Holding a Fairtrade Coffee Break couldn't be easier! Here’s how to do it if you are in Australia (for a New Zealand coffee breaks please visit Oxfam NZ):

1. Arrange a morning or afternoon tea at your workplace, community or faith group using Fairtrade Certified tea and coffee and tell your friends and colleagues about it.

2. Register your Fairtrade Coffee Break with us using the form on the right-hand side. We’ll then send you a free Fairtrade Coffee Break pack with information, resources and samples of Fairtrade products for six people.

3. Wait for your free pack to arrive. Further supplies of Fairtrade Certified products can be obtained from supporting retailers or check the Fairtrade Procurement Guide included as part your pack (also available on line here).

4. Hold your Fairtrade Coffee Break. Download a copy of The Okapa Connection, which follows the journey of PNG Fairtrade coffee from tea to cup to watch during your Fairtrade Coffee Break (Quicktime player required). A PowerPoint presentation on Fairtrade and its life-changing impact for developing country producers can also be downloaded for discussion during your Break.

Have you checked out Fairtrade yet?  Help find Australia’s Most Fairtrade Friendly Supermarket for your chance to win a $2000 Fairtrade prize pack!  As part of Fair Trade Fortnight, we are searching for the supermarket store stocking the biggest range of Fairtrade Certified and Labelled products in the country.
